May 23, 1918 – That Son of a Dough Boy

On this date in 1918, little Raymond Jay Shetler, the man who would become my father turned two years old.  I am sure his mommy and many others were celebrating with him that day.  Everyone except his daddy who was training for war at Camp Devens.

With his new best friend, Irish Setter, Disa of Shetler Gardens on his 60th birthday.

I only got to celebrate his birthday for 26 years but after almost 39 years since his death in 1979, I still miss him.  He was a good man and a great father.
